Dropping through the hole under the 'flake' into the water, it can be seen that the roof of the section in-bye from here is/was supported by a series of iron rails wedged across the level - explorations the other side of this roof fall reached a point where the roof is supported in a similar way, but has collapsed blocking the route through here.
Hence the desire to push this trip as far as possible!
